17.10.070 “GI” general industrial district use regulations.
Buildings, structures or land may be used only for the following purposes in the “GI” general industrial district:
(1) Permitted Principal Uses. The following principal uses are permitted in the general industrial district “GI,” except those uses which by reason of the emission of odor, dust, fumes, smoke, noise and other obnoxious characteristics would be injurious to the public health, safety and general welfare of the community.
(a) Alfalfa dehydrating plant.
(b) Bakery products manufacturing.
(c) Building materials storage and sales yards.
(d) Commercial or industrial storage building.
(e) Concrete or cement products manufacture.
(f) Dairy products manufacture.
(g) Dyeing and cleaning industries.
(h) Fertilizer, storage or processing.
(i) Feed and forage plant.
(j) Grain elevator.
(k) Grain mill products manufacture.
(l) Manufacture, compounding, processing, packing, or treatment of articles or merchandise from previously prepared materials such as bone, cloth, cork, fiber, leather, glass, plastic, paper, stones, rubber and aluminum.
(m) Meat products manufacturing.
(n) Printing and allied industries.
(o) Manufacture, fabrication, or treatment of sheet or shaped metal products including such industries as farm machinery, farm equipment, construction materials, and machinery, heating, ventilating, and plumbing equipment, and household appliances.
(p) Fabrication, manufacture and treatment of lumber or wood products.
(q) Utility substations, pumping stations, generator plant, treatment plant and storage.
(r) Accessory buildings, and uses customarily incidental to the principal use.
(s) Storage of farm and agricultural products.
(t) Truck and freight terminals.
(u) Warehouse and wholesale businesses.
(v) Fuel storage.
(2) Special Uses. The following special uses are permitted in the general industrial district “GI” only in accordance with the provisions set forth hereinafter:
(a) Incinerator.
(b) Auto salvage yard.
(c) Used farm implement and equipment open air display, and sales and storage.
(d) Railroad right-of-way, including a strip of land for tracks and accessory facilities for track operations only. [Ord. 613, 2023; Code 1975 § 6-5.0207.]
