(1) Twenty dollars impoundment fee for first impoundment by owner plus payment by owner of the actual costs incurred by the city for care of the animal up to a maximum of seven days.

(2) Forty dollars impoundment fee for second impoundment by owner plus payment by owner of the actual costs incurred by the city for care of the animal up to a maximum of seven days.

(3) Eighty dollars impoundment fee for third impoundment, or each impoundment thereafter, by owner, plus payment by owner of the actual costs incurred by the city for care of the animal up to a maximum of seven days.

As used in this section, for determination of whether an impoundment is a “first,” “second,” or “third,” “owner” means all family members living in one housing unit. For an impoundment to constitute a second or third impoundment, it is not necessary that the same animal be involved. [Ord. 478 § 1, 2000; Code 1975 § 3-2.0111.]
