The purpose of this chapter is to promote the preservation of existing trees in the city of Ida Grove to the greatest extent practicable by limiting the unnecessary destruction of trees caused by public or private development, redevelopment or the routine maintenance of public facilities, promote the planning and maintenance of proper species of trees where those trees will promote the health and welfare of the residents of Ida Grove and provide a source of advice and recommendations to the city on the proper selection and maintenance of trees.
