No person shall place infectious waste in mixed municipal solid waste, discard or otherwise dispose of infectious waste without first obtaining a special waste authorization (“SWA”).

After receiving a special waste authorization, infectious waste must be delivered to an approved landfill separately from the municipal waste and/or recyclable materials. The special waste authorization must accompany the infectious waste and be presented to the landfill authorities before the waste is disposed of in the landfill.
