It shall be unlawful for a person to sell or offer for sale any tainted, unsound or rotten meat, fish, fowl, fruit, vegetables, eggs, butter, canned goods, packaged goods, or other articles of food, or to sell or offer for sale the flesh of any animal that was diseased. [Code 1975 § 2.1-1.0402.]
