All open-air sales display and storage, including used auto sales and storage, new auto sales and storage, new and used farm implement and equipment sales and storage, new and used truck, machinery, or equipment sales and storage shall require a special use permit.

(1) Application. The application shall be accompanied with drawings and other documents describing the intent, layout, and construction or installation in accordance with the minimum requirements described herein.

(2) Screening. The sides and rear lot lines, when abutting properties used for residential dwellings, shall be screened with a wall or fence with its surface at least 50 percent solid and at least eight feet high.

(3) Lighting. All lighting and lighted facilities shall be designed and arranged so that they do not focus or glare directly on adjacent residential properties, or public streets thereby creating a traffic hazard.

(4) Signs. No lighted flashing signs or revolving beacon lights shall be permitted closer than 75 feet to the street property line or residential properties and less than 15 feet above the ground or more than 35 feet above the ground.

(5) Maintenance. The open-air area shall be maintained to be reasonably free of weeds, debris, trash, and other objectionable materials. [Ord. 606, 2022; Code 1975 § 6-5.0408. Formerly 17.20.080.]
