Before any permit is issued the person who makes the application shall pay to the clerk the following installation fee:

(1) Three-Fourths-Inch Service. The fee for the installation of a three-fourths-inch service line shall be $300.00. The fee shall include all materials and work incident thereto, to install the service line from the main to a point approximately five and one-half feet from the property line, at which point the city will set a curb stop and box. The above stipulated fee shall also include the furnishing of a three-fourths-inch meter with connections and the furnishing and installing of a remote register. The city shall assume ownership and maintenance of the above described service line and its appurtenances, as well as the water meter and remote register. It is the responsibility of the property owner to install and maintain that portion of the service line commencing at the outlet of the curb stop and terminating at the meter.

(2) One-Inch Service. The fee for the installation of one-inch service line shall be $350.00. The fee shall include tapping the main, furnishing and installing the corporation cock, and furnishing the curb stop and box. The above fee shall also include the furnishing of a one-inch meter with connections and furnishing and installing of a remote register for a one-inch meter. It shall be the responsibility of the property owner to furnish and install the service pipe from the main to the meter. The city shall assume ownership and maintenance of the service line from the main to and including the curb stop, said curb stop to be located at a point approximately five and one-half feet from the property line. The city shall also assume ownership and maintenance of the meter and the remote register. The property owner shall retain ownership and assume maintenance of that portion of the service line commencing at the outlet of the curb stop and terminating at the meter.

(3) Larger Services. The fee for the installation of a one-and-one-half-inch service line shall be $450.00 and the fee for the installation of a two-inch service line shall be $500.00. The fee shall include tapping the main, furnishing and installing the corporation cock or tapping “T” and valve, whichever is suitable and required, and furnishing the curb stop and box. The customer shall purchase and install an approved meter with connections and remote register. It shall be the responsibility of the property owner to furnish and install the service pipe from the main to the meter. The city shall assume ownership and maintenance of the service line from the main to and including the curb stop, and curb stop to be located at a point approximately five and one-half feet from the property line. The city shall also assume ownership and maintenance of the meter and remote register. The property owner shall retain ownership and assume maintenance of that portion of the service line commencing at the outlet of the curb stop and terminating at the meter.

(4) Excess Costs. If materials and equipment are utilized by the city, not contemplated or specified in subsections (1), (2) or (3) of this section, in the installation or construction of any waterworks system or part thereof, then the city shall assess a fee or an additional fee to the customer or customers benefited or to be benefited thereby, computed at the actual cost to the city for such materials and equipment plus 10 percent of such actual costs.
