Nothing in this chapter shall preclude perpendicular or angle parking or the construction of such adjacent to a street curb or edge; provided, that it is hard surface paving and in accord with the city’s comprehensive plan and specified by ordinance as permitting it in Chapter 10.45 IGCC. Additionally, no portion of a perpendicular or angle parked vehicle shall encroach upon the traveled portion of the street; space behind each stall shall be provided so that there is sufficient room for entry and egress not inclusive of the street width.

Nothing in this chapter shall preclude perpendicular or angle parking adjacent to an alley on private property, provided it does not create a nuisance or a drainage issue and that it is of the same surface as the alley or of hard surface paving. Additionally, no portion of a parked vehicle shall encroach upon the alley width; and provided, that sufficient space behind each stall for entry and egress is provided inclusive of the alley width, in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 10.45 IGCC.
