When alleys are unpaved, a driveway may be allowed of the same surface material as the alley. Additionally, driveways attached to unpaved alleys may be paved but shall have a 45-degree tapered edge interfacing with gravel. In no case shall the maximum width be larger 30 percent of the property length abutting the alley or wider than 42 feet at the alley’s edge.

The requirements for temporary residential driveway approach to unpaved streets shall be the maximum width of 35 feet at the property line and 42 feet at the street edge. When streets are unpaved, temporary driveway approach may be allowed of the same surface material as the street. [Ord. 598, 2021.]
